They used to be pond girls. Early mornings, simple lives, sensible expectations.

Then someone poured the wine and everything changed.

Now there's a charcuterie board. There are sunglasses. There is a blazer that absolutely should not work on a duck and yet here we are. Nobody planned this. Nobody is complaining. The pond still exists — they've just decided it can exist without them for a while. Possibly forever. Details to follow.

They're not looking back. Not because the pond was bad. Just because the Pinot is significantly better and they have opinions about the cheese now.

This is what growth looks like. Sunglasses on, glass full, zero apologies.

I painted this the morning after a very good night out with my best friend — the kind where you look at each other at some point and think, we've figured something out. I don't know what we figured out. But these two ducks have it. The pink and green together felt completely wrong until it was the only thing that felt right. Like most good decisions.
