It doesn't.

From the left he's teal. From the right, almost black. Up close he's a colour that doesn't exist in any Pantone catalogue and frankly never will. You think you've clocked him. The light moves. You haven't.

He sees the bread. He's done the math. He's leaving.

Nobody gets the full picture. He has thoughts about this. He's keeping them.

Spent four hours trying to paint that green. It didn't want to be painted. We reached a compromise. He got to keep the mystery. I got the painting. Fair.
